Donate to our 2019-2020 No Fuss Fundraising Campaign

We need your help! Our No Fuss Fundraising Campaign runs from September 10 – 23, 2019. Our hope is to reach our goal of $16,000 so we only have this one fundraiser for the entire year and to do so without asking our children and families to sell items.

100% of the money donated to our PTA stays at our school.  There is no “vendor cut” with a no fuss fundraiser.

Your donations are used to support cultural arts events, teacher curriculum, character and academic recognition, educator grants, student celebrations, student clubs and programs, our fine arts departments, our counselors, parent programs, advocacy efforts, and more.

Our PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Our budget is intentional in supporting all students at our school.

Cash, check and online donations are all appreciated. And please check with your employer for employee matching gift programs and corporate donations.

Donate online via MemberHub.

Donate with cash/check. Students received a fundraising form and envelope Monday or download this form and send it in with your student. Parent volunteers are collecting donation envelopes every morning at carpool, bus loop, and walkers’ entrance to campus.

We are a non-profit 5013c organization so typically donations are tax deductible. Check with your financial advisor. Our tax id# is: 58-1646812

WMMMS PTA passes resolution in support of Wake County School Bond

Support for the November 6, 2018

Wake County School Bond Referendum

A Resolution of the West Millbrook Magnet Middle School PTA Board

WHEREAS, the mission of the PTA is:

  1. To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
  2. To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
  3. To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation;

WHEREAS, Wake County Public School System has a current enrollment of approximately 160,000 students and yearly growth projections of 2 percent or more will result in severely overcrowded schools in some areas of the county;

WHEREAS, the ongoing construction of new schools and the renovation and updating of existing inadequate facilities such as West Millbrook Magnet Middle School and many other schools in the Wake County Public Schools System are essential to provide safe and adequate learning environments for all children; and providing housing to our students is a statutory and constitutional obligation;

WHEREAS, the renovation and rebuilding of West Millbrook Magnet Middle School has been delayed since 2005 largely due to lack of funding for the capital improvements necessary to provide essential safe, adequate and equitable learning environments for all children; WHEREAS, the continued academic excellence of Wake County’s public schools is essential to Wake County’s economic well-being, as well, as maintaining the status of being one of the best places to live in the country;

WHEREAS, the Wake County Board of Education and the Wake County Board of Commissioners have mutually agreed upon a rolling seven-year building program, which is estimated to cost $2.4 billion. The next two-year phase of renovation and construction will require a $548 million bond package to be approved by the
voters this year;

WHEREAS, voter-approved bonds carry the lower interest rates, and when coupled with Wake County’s AAA bond rating, general obligation bonds are the most cost-effective way to pay for school construction and renovation.

WHEREAS, the West Millbrook Magnet Middle School PTA Board supports the continued efforts of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, the Wake County Board of Education, and all citizens of Wake County to provide our most valuable asset – our youth – with the best educational opportunities possible.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the West Millbrook Magnet Middle School PTA Board hereby expresses its active promotion and strong support for the passage of the November 6, 2018 Wake County School Bond Referendum.

Adopted this 2nd day of November 2018.
Shawn Jackson,
West Millbrook Magnet Middle School PTA President (2018-19)
